Operation Christmas Child

What is Operation Christmas Child?

The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations.

Since 1993, more than 220 million children in more than 170 countries and territories have received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox. The project delivers not only the joy of what, for many kids, is their first gift ever, but also gives them a tangible expression of God’s love.

Our 2024 Plans:

FBC will be packing shoeboxes with school supplies, hygiene items, toys, etc. together on on November 9 at 6:00 p.m. You're also welcome to pack shoebox(es) yourself and bring them to the church.

This year, FBC's goal is to pack and ship 300 boxes!

Would you like to participate in Operation Christmas Child but don’t have time to go to the store?

Here’s how shopping the Amazon Wishlist works:

  • Click the link above to access the wishlist (we can also email the link upon request)

  • Browse the items on the wishlist and make your selection(s).

  • Checkout as you normally would. A “select a shipping address” screen will appear. Choose the First Baptist Church (gift registry) address that will be listed to have your items delivered directly to the church.

Note: Once items are completely fulfilled from the Amazon wishlist, they’ll automatically be removed. Bulk items will be split into multiple shoeboxes.

Items that are not allowed to be packed (per Samaritan’s Purse):

Candy; toothpaste; gum; used or damaged items; scary or war-related items such as toy guns, knives, or military figures; chocolate or food; seeds; fruit rolls or other fruit snacks; drink mixes (powdered or liquid); liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers; aerosol cans.
